Womack reunion draws from near and far

DORROH LAKE - Descendants of Nathaniel Greene and Mark Sanders Womack and Andrew Egger Kolb met July 18 on the campus of beautiful Dorroh Lake Baptist Assembly for their annual reunion. 83 attended from the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma and Tennessee. New attendees were welcomed and much of the day was spent in talking of old times and catching up on what had transpired during the past year. Some chose to enjoy the new swimming pool and some chose to take to the hiking trail while others enjoyed sitting out under the shade trees overlooking the lake. Of course, as usual, the cameras were busy clicking during the day and people were showing pictures of their grandchildren or great-grandchildren which everyone enjoyed. At noon, a table laden with an assortment of meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, homemade ice cream, etc., was soon devoured.

Those attending from Booneville were: Eddie Vickie, Olivia and Isaac Henley. Clinton attendees were Aver Lee, Marion, Steve and Tina O'Neal.

Eupora had the largest number attending: Paul, Kristin, Abbie, Hallie, Ava Johnston; Edward, Carolyn, Danielle and Derek Womack; Jimmy, Lisa, and Ethan Orr; Geneva, Upton and Thelma Sparkman; Willene and Eula Mae Shaw; Nell Trull.

Virginia Womack Perry came from Grenada and Wayne Kilgore and Alison Randle came from Guntown. Stan Henley was the only attendee from Florence and James and Wydelle Womack were the Hattiesburg attendees. Haven Henley came from Harrisville and Gene and Gloria Womack came from Lauderdale.

Mantee attendees were: William, Martha, Nora and Taylor Spencer. Mathison was represented by Sarah, Kaylee, and Bo Berry and Harold Womack. Thomas and Barbara Hood came from Okolona. Sam and Polly Earnest, Jane Kinard and Marty and Janice Brunson were attendees from Starkville and David and Pat May came from Sturgis.

Those coming from Raymond were Keith, Debbie, Jacob and Simon O'Neal. Glen Womack came from Waynesboro and John A. Kolb came from West Point.

Glen, Meredith, and Elliot Womack came from Cottondale, Ala., and Daniel, Denise, Bailey and Jonathan Tatum came from Madison, Ala. Those coming from Fort Smith, Ark., were Wayne, Kelly, Micah and Gabriel Womack and from West Memphis, Ark., were Larry, Heather and Reese Goodwin. Herbert and Sara Womack came from Chula, Ga., and Sara Johnson came from Tifton, Ga. Those from Ohio were Alton Womack from Morrow and Gabe and Isaiah Womack from Monroe. Melica Womack Sanders came from Bartlett, Tenn.

The 2010 reunion will be held at the same place on July 24 and everyone is encouraged to arrive early and participate in the available activities such as swimming, fishing, canoeing, playing volleyball, hiking, etc.
