HOUSTON - On Friday, Oct. 23, church services were conducted by Larry Wright and his wife, Elaine, from Parkway Baptist Church. They always do a good job. We really thank them for everything Parkway does for us. May God bless each one of you. We had 30 present.
We had our birthday party for the month of October. We always have a good time. The birthday honorees were Monola Wheeler, Lou Dean Martin and Ms. Lillian Wiseman. Our thank to BancorpSouth for the birthday cake and the Pilot club for the punch and gifts.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, Zion Springs M.B. Church in Houston brought the service. Albert Cockrell is pastor and Pearlie Carr brought the lesson. Sister Darlene Holmes, the piano player, opened with "The Lord will Make a Way," along with the missionaries. After the lesson, Pastor Holmes gave a few words of encouragement. The Missionaries and Sis. Holmes sang songs. There were a total of 15 at the service. We enjoyed the fellowship.
We had singing in the afternoon led by Billy Free. Speaker was Doug Langley. We had 12 present with four visitors.
Ms. Johnnie Duncan attended the wedding of her granddaughter Saturday afternoon. Kimberly Corrine Vaughn and Allen Stewart were wed at the Magnolia House in Aberdeen.
On Sunday, Oct. 25, we thank Arbor Grove Baptist Church for bringing our Sunday and Tuesday church services. Bro. Scott Shempert and Bro. Bill Clark conducted our services and they did a real good job.
On Monday, Oct. 26, we had bingo in the afternoon. Helpers were Ruth Gann, Nellie Reynolds, Nelda Moore and Thelma Allen. Winners were Zula Warnick, Mary Evans, Ruby Hodnett, Glenda Nichols, Grace Moore, Hattie Dendy and Madge Blissard. We always enjoy them. The refreshments were good. They do a wonderful job. On Tuesday, Oct. 27, we thanked Myra Campbell for fixing our hair each week. We love you.
We have enjoyed the services brought by Arbor Grove Baptist Church this month. The piano playing by Pam Curry was beautiful as usual. Mr. Bill Clark did a wonderful job with bringing the message each Sunday and Tuesday. Thanks to the faithful members of the church that came for support. Jill Criddle, Ruth Alexander, Phillip Duncan, Pam Curry and Stacy Chapman were here Tuesday for services and provided refreshments. We love you, Arbor Grove Church and church family.
On Wednesday, Oct. 28, we are happy to have Ms. Etoyle Nabors back with us. We love you, Ms. Etoyle.
On Thursday, Oct. 29, we came on down and played the Price is Right. The winners were Mary Dexter, Monola Wheeler, Relda Holman and Zula Warnick, a two-time winner.
