Several members of the Houston FFA chapter competed at the 2009 MS State Fair in Jackson on October 7 through 18.

The Livestock Judging team, comprised of Gayla Bevels, Kenny Hiner, and Katie McCormick, placed fifth in the State out of 24 teams. Zamia Mason was recognized for her North District Jr. Star Farmer display that was held in the FFA Children's Barnyard and placed fourth with her black Angus heifer in the Senior Yearling Heifers division.

Ty Cook also placed third with her black angus heifer in the Summer Yearling Heifer division. We are proud to have these members represent Houston. Their FFA advisor is Karen Cook.
