HOUSTON – The annual Parish Bazaar held in the First Methodist Church Family Life Center in Houston was once again declared a success by organizers and guests in attendance.
The day of fun began as the men of the church hosted breakfast one again, serving a full line of eggs, biscuits, bacon, sausage, ham, grits and gravy to the crowds who stopped by on their way to work or school.
The bazaar featured booths with items for sale including boutique clothing, gardening accessories, home decor and Christmas decorations and shoppers found many great gifts for the upcoming holidays. Baked goods and casseroles sold quickly as usual. The annual spaghetti lunch once again featured entertainment by local artist, Kay Bain, a bazaar mainstay for many years.
The 2009 bazaar raised almost $12,000 to benefit the UMC parish churches and plans are already being laid for next year's event.
