I would like to praise and commend the Houston 911 emergency team.
In the late afternoon of Sept. 28, I fell in my backyard and incurred a bad ankle/foot break. My husband called 911 and the emergency team arrived at once. Our fire chief, Jonathan Blankenship, immediately started to try to find a pulse in my broken foot and ankle. He asked others in the group to also try for a pulse but none could be found. He asked me to move my toes which I could not do.
Jonathan then called for the helicopter. I was in the air before I knew that the lack of pulse and no feeling in the foot required immediate attention to prevent possible amputation.
I sincerely thank the police department, fire department and the ambulance personnel. It is very comforting to know that we live in a town with such dedicated and capable people available to help us.
