The residents at Floy Dyer Nursing Home in Houston extend a thank you to the local civic clubs and organizations for their support of the monthly birthday party. The Pilot Club of Houstn supplies gifts to the residents and makes a donation for punch, while BancorpSouth in Houston donates the birthday cake for the montly celebration. Mrs. Waurean Hollingsworth of the Pilot Club is shown presenting the punch donation to Mrs. Ara Garner of Floy Dyer as Activities Director Hope Tucker looks on.

HOUSTON - On Friday, September 18, we had church from Parkway Baptist Church. The speaker was Ralph Pullen. We always enjoy him. We had 22 present.
We played “The Price Is Right” in the afternoon with the helpers Chalonda, Alexis, and Demitria. Winners were Lorene Lucius, Catherine Reeves, and Grace Moore. We had 25 present.
On Saturday, September 19, we had our crochet class in the morning. We all had a good time.
On Sunday, September 20, church services were conducted Bro. Jerry Lee from the Upper Prairie Creek Baptist Church. Alesya played the piano. We had 20 present.
On Monday, September 21, we played bingo in the afternoon. These girls always do a good job. The refreshments were real good. Helpers were Thelma Allen, Ruth Gann, Goldie Burgess, Nellie Reynolds, and Sarah Lowe. Winners were Lucille McClain, Johnnie Duncan, Zula Warnick, Hattie Dendy, and Madge Blissard.
On Tuesday, September 22, church services were conducted by Bro. Jerry Lee from the Upper Prairie Creek Baptist Church. Aleysa played the piano. We really enjoyed them. We had 13 present.
On Wednesday, September 23, church services were conducted by Bro. Jerry Henderson and wife Doddie from the Thorn Church of Christ. We had 25 present with one visitor. Romenion Buford had a visit from his sister and brother-in-law from Water Valley, Inez and Clarence Morgan. He was happy to see them. Thanks to David Duncan for the big, wonderful watermelons. We really enjoyed them very much.
Grace Moore has a new great-grandson, born Wednesday afternoon to Kellie and John Atkinson. He weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 inches long. They named him Truett Alexander Atkinson. The proud grandparents are Brenda and Billy Ray Kilgore and Betty and Dyer Atkinson. We are all thankful to God for it all.
On Thursday, September 24, we had a watermelon cutting in the afternoon. We really enjoyed them. They were really sweet and good.
On Friday, September 25, we had our monthly birthday party today. We want to thank the Pilot Club for the birthday gifts and the punch for the party. We love you very much. Also, we want to thank Bancorp South for the birthday cake. Those having a birthday this month were Lucille Bray, Inez Castle, Walterine Brown, Walter Smith, and Gertrude Gann.
