HOUSTON - The Lady Toppers improved their record to 11-1 overall and 1-0 in district with wins over Amory and Louisville last week.
The Lady Toppers started their week off right with a 59-30 win over the Lady Panthers that saw the Amory girls held to only 17 points through three quarters. Despite a rally in the fourth, the damage was done by the Houston girls, who posted double digits throughout including a 20-point third quarter.
Houston was led by Tiffany Pierce with 24, followed by Tynita Baker with 12.
Friday saw the Lady Toppers double the Lady Tigers score - plus two, on their way to a non-district win.
The Lady Toppers outscored the Lady Tigers 46-17 through three quarters and finished up with a 52-25 victory.
Baker led for Houston with 20, followed by Sancreisha Morgan with 13 and Kat Payne with 11.
Upcoming action
The Lady Toppers were set to host South Pontotoc in district play on Tuesday and will head to Cumberland to take on East Webster this Thursday. They will be back in district play on Jan. 20 at Winona and will host Okolona for another county grudge match on Jan. 23.
