FULTON - Itawamba Community College scholarship recipients for 2009 include Matthew Clark of Houlka, Valedictorian; Jennifer C. Hodges of Houston, Leadership, Regular Career Incentive; Austin Marshall of Houston, Special Achievement, Leadership, Solar Car Team Scholarship; and Tiffany Pierce of Prairie, Leadership.
Clark is a 2009 graduate of Houlka Attendance Center where he was a member of the Beta Club. His honors included A honor roll, highest academic average in AP English IV and honor student. He is the son of Billy and Janet Clark.
At Houston High School where she was a 2009 graduate, Hodges participated in the band, color guard, winter guard, Beta Club, Anchor Club and Student Council. Her honors include Delta State Honor Band (two years), Mississippi State Honor Band (two years), Northeast Honor Band (three years), Ole Miss Honor Band (four years), most outstanding color guard member, most outstanding woodwind musician (two years), most outstanding section leader, most improved woodwind and the recipient of the John Philip Sousa award and the Robert P. Chase Scholarship. She is the daughter of Frank and Deborah Hodges.
Marshall is a 2009 graduate of Houston High School where he was a member of the band, solar car, jazz band, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and cross country team. His honors included first place SkillsUSA-VICA and Mississippi career technical honors. He is the son of Mark and Kim Marshall.
At Houston High School where she was a 2009 graduate, Pierce was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Educators of America, Beta Club, Anchor Club and the basketball team. Her honors included homecoming queen, best offense, most rebounds per game, best field goal percentage, 3A All-State and Region 2-3A All-District. She is the daughter of Macsanna Pierce.
