WINONA - The Hebron Lady Eagles Basketball Team got off to a 2-1 start in the Winona Christian School Pre-season Tournament held last week in Winona. The Lady Eagles kicked off their season taking on the host WCS Lady Stars.

HCS jumped out to a 17-2 lead in the first quarter and pulled away in the second quarter to go in at the half with a 30-7 lead. It was more of the same in the second half with HCS winning 45-18. Scoring for the Lady Eagles; Laura Beth Moore 16, Chelsea Holcombe 4, Cathryn Moore 10, Magen Tapley 4, Hillary Arnold 5, Laura Catherine Horn 2, and Ruth Foster 4.

Also seeing action were Beverly Blake, Brittany Ousley, and Taylor Jane Taggert. In the second round Hebron took on Delta Academy.

A strong Delta defense gave the Lady Eagles their first loss of the season. Scoring for the Lady Eagles: L.B. Moore 4, L.C. Horn 4, Magen Tapley 10, Cathryn Moore 3, Hillary Arnold 2, Chelsea Holcombe 2, Ruth Foster 4, and Beverly Blake 2.

In the Pool B championship game HCS again took on the Lady Stars of WCS. Again, Hebron jumped out to an early lead with a 14-4 first quarter lead and went into the half with a 35-13 lead. Hebron extended their lead to 54-19 in the third and finished with a 58-20 win.

Scoring for the Lady Eagles: L.B. Moore 16, L.C. Horn 3, Cathryn Moore 11, Magen Tapley 9, Hillary Arnold 13, Brittany Ousley 4, and Ruth Foster 2.

The Lady Eagles return to action in the Benton Academy Tournament on November 3.
