Floyd Ingram has been named General Manager of The Chickasaw Journal and started work at this community's newspaper last week.
Ingram brings more than 25 years of newspaper experience to his new position. He most recently served as Editor and Publisher of two American Consolidated Media newspapers in Texas.
"We have a good team in place at the Chickasaw Journal and we're excited about the addition of Floyd to help us continuously improve the products and service we provide to our customers everyday," said Clay Foster, president and publisher of Journal, Inc. "We believe that the distinguishing characteristic of a community newspaper like the Chickasaw Journal is its commitment to serving the information needs of the local community. The local newspaper is instrumental in developing community.
"Since purchasing the Chickasaw Journal in 2005, we have tried to provide local content that comes close to people's homes and lives," said Foster. "Going forward Floyd will build on this effort and working with the Chickasaw Journal team help us ensure we're providing stories that readers simply must read and stories they want to read, news local residents can't live without, news that enlightens their lives and news that brightens their days."
Ingram has held a variety of positions in the newspaper business from reporter and sports editor to managing editor and publisher.

"I began in this profession as a newspaper boy and bought my first car with newspaper money," said Ingram. "I cut my teeth on community journalism and know the importance of telling local stories and informing a community about the inner workings of local government and local schools."
